A cat that likes a place to retreat and a dog that needs its own way to exercise have different requirements. Westmead in Etwall has a purpose-built cattery with 15 two-level pens; each has a window, a heated bed and a hiding place. For dogs, accommodation includes indoor and outdoor kennels, with attached grass runs at seven of them and heat lamps that can be fitted.
Etwall is an old parish in South Derbyshire. Its surroundings include farmland and rural settlements. At Westmead, dog daycare offers group play for sociable dogs or separate exercise for those that need it. The business also aims to keep pets’ routines close to those they follow at home.
